Working in the General Legal Advice Clinic, a free legal advice service run by the University, forming 40 credits on the final year of my undergraduate law degree, I provided free legal confidential help and advice to the public on a range of legal areas including, employment, family and succession law. I also have extensive knowledge in housing law such a dealing with breaches of their tenancy and leasehold agreements where I had to interview tenants and offer advice on tenant-landlord relationship. I have dealt with nuisance orders and dealing with anti-social behaviour from tenants. Through this experience I developed a sophisticated understanding of the interaction between academic legal knowledge and providing practical legal advice. I also developed a range of practical legal skills, including interviewing, report writing, legal research, drafting, file management and effective communication. I was also involved in the social media team operating the Instagram account.

Other experience

May 2015 till January 2016
JD Sport Sales assistant, Swindon, Wiltshire

Working at JD Sports as a sales assistant, I provided services to customers on the latest shoe trends and fashion. I was responsible for greeting customers as they enter the store and help them to find the right product there are looking for. In addition, my other responsibilities were to organise sales presentations and ensure that all sales presentations are prepared prior to deadlines. During my time at JD Sports I had to deal with different types of customers and their needs by developing solutions for customers by listening t their needs and recommending the appropriate products. My other duties were to collaborate with other team members to keep the sales floor area clean and organised. My Before the shop opens, I had a responsibility to work with my colleagues to make the store clean by hoovering the store, polishing the desk and mirrors which gave me great attention to detail and to work as a team effectively.

I have participated in a  Missionary trip with my church in in 2014 in Thailand. We travelled as a team to Thailand to provide support  to the local orphanages in Mae Sot and Chiang Mai.  I volunteered in an orphanage by helping to clear the wreckage the flood caused by a monsoon. I was part of the renovation team by rebuilding the orphanage by creating a pond for fresh water and helped with painting the orphanage as it was damaged by the flooding. I also helped with taking care of the children by engaging with playful activities such as, playing games.

I played American Football for the Women’s Dreadnought team in University of Portsmouth. Playing American Football has taught me a lot about team work by learning how to communicate effectively with individuals in my team by sharing knowledge and new skills. Apart from American Football I enjoy going to the gym, doing cardio and lifting weights. I also have an interest in musical instrument as I have been playing guitar, violin and the piano for couple years in my local Church band.
